A Forum reader asked the following question:

"For administration of Novell Security Manager, we are using WebAdmin access. For that, we've allowed the user's list in WebAdmin settings. If all these entries are deleted, than we cannot access NSM thru WebAdmin. How do we restore the WebAdmin access admin thru the NSM server console?"

And here's the reply from NSM expert Christian Schwarz ...

Here's what you need to do:

1. Log in as root on NSM console and open the following file with vi:

2. Find the line "reset_pwd = 0" and change "0" to "1"

3. Save the file and access the webadmin site.

4. When it is open, click the refresh button.

Now you can set the passwords for admin, root and loginuser. After pressing save the admin user will be recreated.

If you have lost the WebAccess admin page, you have to edit the same file:

vi /etc/wfe/conf/settings

Look for the section [webadmin_networks] and add "Any" to this section. Save this, wait a few seconds, and then try to access the Webadmin URL.
