Madpenguin has posted a nice review of SUSE Linux 10.1. It's a great review for those interested in looking for a great desktop Linux distribution. They go into all kinds of detail, noting strong points as well as areas for possible improvement.

Excerpt:

"The desktop itself is one to be reckoned with. I was able to be instantly productive with this release of SUSE. I didn't need to ?fiddle? with anything outside of getting multimedia support back in place, but that's another argument for another day isn't it? The bottom line is that I was able to install the OS and apps, sit down, and go right to work. In this day and age it's really sad to say that many distributions of Linux still require some serious tinkering to get just right. Linux veterans know what I mean. SUSE Linux 10.1 has all but solved this problem, and is vying for my attention on my main system. It's seriously tempting me to switch our main systems to SUSE and that's the truth. At no point in my career, no matter how much I liked a distro when I reviewed it, have I been tempted to migrate, but today is a new day my friends, and I see SUSE in my future. I highly recommend trying it out if you haven't already. It's well worth the time. I'd say it's well worth the money... but... well... yeah."
