A Forum reader recently asked:

"I desperately need to grab the following information out of GroupWise/NDS, but I can't seem to find all of the fields using the GroupWise import/export utility:

  • name (found)
  • email address (found)
  • nickname (can't find)
  • external user email address (can't find)

We have an external domain and post office that we use to reference city employees/volunteers. We do this so they can receive email from the city at what looks like a city email address, but is in fact a GWIA alias. It's this GWIA alias email address that I can't find, along with with the GroupWise nicknames of users who do have NDS and GroupWise accounts. Any information would be greatly appreciated."

Here's a tip from Dave Hansen ...

I think there is a workaround to get the information you want. You can copy the information from ConsoleOne and paste it to an outside editor. To get the nicknames you want select Nicknames to display in the GroupWise View. Then select View | Edit Columns to select the columns with information you want to get. You can then select the nicknames you want and use CTRL-C to copy them to the clipboard. You can then paste them into any editor, and it will paste a tab-delimited list.

To get the Gateway Aliases, you want select a GWIA gateway. From the Properties page, select GroupWise | Gateway Aliases to display a list of aliases for the GWIA. This is a fixed list, so you can't change the view - but it does display the domain, post office, object ID and alias address for all objects that have GWIA aliases. From this list, select the aliases you want, copy them to the clipboard, and paste them into an editor to be saved.
