We often have to deal with GroupWise performance questions; in fact my visit to Hong Kong at the beginning of August was one such issue. In the vast majority of cases the problem turns out to be disk or SAN related, and Hong Kong was no exception (their SAN vendor tested their disks running at 108% capacity!).
So, any amount of tuning was not going to help; however, one of the suggestions we make is to set a whole pile of SET parameters on the NetWare servers. A good resource for this is the GWTUNE.NCF file from one of our forum sysops. It suggests parameters and values based on years of combined GroupWise and NetWare experience.
