Problem
A Forum reader asked this question:
"We have a number of users on our network that only use Mac's, so I am wondering how to populate Universal Password (and therefore the dist passwords) for these users."
Solution
As of NetWare 6.5, and really I suppose eDirectory 8.7.x on all platforms, NLDAP supports NMAS for logins. Therefore, an LDAP bind and LDAP password change will follow the Universal Password policy.
Here are a few suggestions you can try:
1) Give them a web app that does a LDAP password change.
2) Use one of the Portal modules as a web interface to change their passwords.
3) Preset a password and tell them to change it this way.
