You need to migrate GroupWise Mobile Server to a new piece of hardware or rebuild a crashed server. This process should be as easy as possible on users already configured for the service.
Currently there is not a way to migrate services including all user settings from one GMS server to another, or a way to do a proper backup of these same settings. To migrate (or prepare for disaster recovery), follow these steps:
1. Export the user list from your existing server.
2. Save this to another location (such as a DR thumbdrive, CD, or network drive).
3. On the new server, create a new user list and import the saved user list into the new server.
At this time all users will need to reset their devices and login to the new webpim to complete the configuration of their new accounts. In a migration scenario this would be best completed by having both GMS servers running in parallel for a period, so as to not force a rush onto your Mobile users (usually a portion of the most visible users in your company!)
Note: This solution works with Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 (with a Linux version promised in 2007) and GroupWise Mobile Server.
