Heads Up, Autodesk users, things have gotten a little easier for you. A lot of Autodesk users have asked for a way to identify Network License installs for common CAD applications. Beginning with the May 2007 Product Recognition Update (PRU), ZENworks Asset Management now distinguishes between installations that indicate a Network License install versus other types of installations.

Autodesk fingerprints will capture the "network license" copies of Autodesk products (previously we simply reported the existence of Autodesk programs). With these new fingerprints, we will be able to distinguish which ones are "network license" copies. The product names will show up like this: AutoCAD 2004 (Network License).

Affected Autodesk Apps

  • Autodesk AutoCAD 2004 (Network License) 16.0
  • Autodesk AutoCAD 2005 (Network License) 16.1
  • Autodesk AutoCAD 2006 (Network License) 16.2 (all languages)
  • Autodesk AutoCAD 2006 (Network License) 16.2 Beta
  • Autodesk AutoCAD 2007 (Network License) 17.0 (all languages)
  • Autodesk AutoCAD 2008 (Network License) 17.1 (all languages)
  • Autodesk Autodesk Architectural Desktop (Network License) 2005
  • Autodesk Autodesk Architectural Desktop (Network License) 2006 (all languages)
  • Autodesk Autodesk Civil 3D 2005 (Network License) 2005
  • Autodesk Autodesk Civil 3D 2006 (Network License) 2006 (all languages)
  • Autodesk Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 (Network License) 2007 (all languages)
  • Autodesk Autodesk Land Desktop (Network License) 2005 (all languages)
  • Autodesk Autodesk Land Desktop (Network License) 2006
  • Autodesk Autodesk Map 3D (Network License) 2005
  • Autodesk Autodesk Map 3D (Network License) 2006 (all languages)
  • Autodesk Autodesk Map 3D (Network License) 2007 (all languages)
  • Autodesk Autodesk Revit Building (Network License) 9.x

Product Recognition Updates can be scheduled to run automatically or can be downloaded manually at http://download.novell.com. PRU's can be set up within the ZAM Manager for the Task server to check the site on a scheduled basis, and download and apply them automatically. Please refer to the Help Section for details of how to set up automatic PRU downloads if desired. Each interim release is cumulative.
