Getting IESSO Debugging Data to Appear with NSL

Novell Cool Solutions: Tip

NSL is installed on approximately 4000 computers at our company, pushed via an in-house package. Some of these PCs are not performing SSO onto scripted web apps. When debugging, there is absolutely no information returned from IESSO.

A user can log into PC A and get the web apps SSO, but when the user logs into PC B - nothing!

Our environment uses security templates that allow User objects to delete registry keys. Therefore, if an anti-spyware program, for instances, thinks a registry key is bad, it goes ahead and deletes the key.

Our solution:

1. Reset the permissions on the
HKLM\Software \Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects
registry hive to only allow QUery, Enumerate, Notify, and Read control.

2. Re-register the iesso.dll file by running
regsvr32 "C: \Program Files\Novell\SecureLogin\iesso.dll"
