A Forum reader recently asked:

"I want to edit a GWIA object that is located on an OES server for Linux on an NSS volume. When I do this using ConsoleOne on a Windows workstation I can edit everything, but settings are not honored by the GWIA. When I try to edit the GWIA on the OES Linux locally, I do not get to see the smtp/mime, pop3, ldap, etc. tabs. Only the GroupWise tab is there."

And here's the response from Danita Zanre ...

The GWIA tabs are very finicky. That said, if you can see the tabs on Windows, I'm not sure why they are not being honored.

And that said, the way to fix this for the OES Linux server is:

1. Open ConsoleOne on the Linux box.

2. Edit the properties of the domain and make it the local path (i.e, not a UNC, but directly where it exists on the Linux box itself - like /grpwise/domain/.

3. Close ConsoleOne and open it again.

Now the GWIA tabs should be there.

Remember - once you get to GroupWise 7 SP1 and the settings get moved into the wpdomain.db file, if you put settings in the GWIA.CFG they are "override" settings.
