iChain has a password management servlet. Actually there are four servlets.

  • User self-registration
  • User account modification
  • Change password
  • Password manager and redirect

You can install the servlets on any web app server you want, point iChain at them and voila! Users get notified of passwords about to expire and are given the opportunity to change them. When a password does expire, the user is locked out and forced to the password change field. Links to the account information management and account creation servlets can be placed on user-specific portal page, and a public portal/web page respectively.

Note that only the account creation servlet can be hit directly. All of the rest of the servlets require the user to have an active iChain session in order to run.
