Update: You can also use Mozilla/MozillaFirebird with the Live HTTP Headers extension to have the browser record all HTTP headers for requests and responses, HTTP, HTTPS, etc.
For client to iChain communications you can use the Netscape browser. In the security settings disable all cipher suites for SSLv3 EXCEPT the bottom one which allows the SSL session to be established without encrypting. By default iChain will allow this unless you enable strong cryptography. You can then see the traffic inside the SSL trace.
iChain 2.2 has some pretty good debug tools on the console for monitoring OLAC, FormFIll and ACLCHECK operations. In the proxy console screen there is very useful info to be obtained from the identity agent. TCPCON is invaluable also.
