We've recently pushed out the Windows 95 Y2K operating system patch using ZENworks. Soon afterward, we began having problems with workstations locking up. After a bit of research, we discovered that some of the .dll's that had been updated by the Y2K patch had been back-versioned to older dates! The culprit? Other ZENworks NAL objects! NAL applications that had been created prior to applying the Y2K patch contained older Windows .dll's. Each time someone verified an application installation using the NAL, they overwrote the Y2K updated .dll's.
We are now in the process of updating all of our NAL applications so that they either contain the most recent Windows files, or we set that NAL application file option to "copy if newer version."
