In response to the article on performing a Automated Client Upgrade using NCIMAN, I'd like to pass along my solution to upgrading clients.
Our environment is mainly Windows NT 4.0 so I simply copied the client and service pack files to a common area such as sys:public/client including the unattend.txt file, then I created a application object pointing to the setupnw.exe and the unattend.txt file.
I made this a force run so when the client logs in and NAL starts, it fires up this application, checks and upgrades the client, reboots, done. One can also set up several groups and applications for different OS versions or even to rollout the client on a controlled basis.
