Here are some tools so fresh the paint is still wet on them. They utilize some of Netoria's very popular product technologies and features, particularly SFLogin and SFLock. A Valentine's gift to you, from the Client team.

Contextless Login

Filename: Lgncl.zip

The Contextless Login Extension for Window 9x and Windows NT allows for contextless login without requiring catalogs on the backend. This extension searches specified locations in the tree for all occurances of the username. If one exists, LgnCLW32 automatically updates the context field of the NDS Tab.

If more than one exists, the user is presented a dialog where he may choose which context is to be used.

LDAP Contextless Login

Filename: Lgncx.zip

The LDAP Contextless Login Extension for Windows 9x and Windows NT allows for contextless login without requiring catalogs on the backend. When the user changes the user name or tree name, this extension uses LDAP to search the entire tree for all occurances of the username. If one exists LgnCxW32 automatically updates the context field of the NDS Tab. If more than one exists the user is presented a dialog where he may choose which context is to be used. This is way cool and is amazingly fast!!

Password Restrictions

Filename: Lgnpw.zip

LgnPwW32.DLL is a login extension which extends the rules for deciding what is a valid password, when changing expired password within the login process.

The rules available are:

  • Minimum digits: the password must contain at least a specified number of digits ([0-9])
  • Minimum alphabetics: the password must contain at least a specified number of alphabetic characters ([a-z,A-Z])
  • Maximum consecutive: the password may not contain the same character more than a specified number of times in a row.
  • Maximum repeats: the password may not contain the same character more than a specified number of times in the entire password.

More password rules can be created based on user feedback.

NDS Explorer

Filename: setupex.exe This product is also currently available in the Leading Edge area of the NDK.

The NDS Explorer is a Windows shell extension which allows NDS objects to appear in Explorer. It allows for directory browsing through LDAP or NDAP. It's a really cool tool and shows off the power of the directory. We are looking for feedback on this product and that feedback can be sent to NDSExplorer@novell.com.
