I'd like to tell everyone about a neat little utility on the Novell Support Connection CD called NDS2WORD. (Editor's Note: it's also on the Cool Solutions Cool Tools page. For your convenience, you can also download it directly from here.) When run, this tiny little program makes sure that the user information for Microsoft Office is set properly for the current logged in user.
The best way to use this, of course, is to create an application object that is set to force run after login. Then ZEN will do the rest.
In our office, we have documents that everyone tends to like to have open. With the user information properly set, the end user gets a message in Word or Excel fingering who has the document open instead of bothering the network admin about it.
Make sure that each user object in NDS has both the Full Name and Generational Qualifier fields filled in or the program will not work. (Hint: put the user's initials into the Generational Qualifier field.)
