Would you like to be able to make sure the Workstation Import Service is listening for requests? Here's how:
On a NetWare server, use the TCPCON program to check if the ZENworks for Desktops Workstation Import service is listening for requests. Go to PROTOCOL INFORMATION, and then TCP, look at the details on TCP CONNECTIONS. You should see that PORT 8039 on the local host is listening for requests.
You can also telnet to that specific port to see if the Workstation Import service is listening for requests. This can be done by using the syntax of TELNET IP PORT. For example, TELNET 10.1.1.1 8039, would check to see if port 8039 on the 10.1.1.1 server is listening. If it is not, then you will get a message back saying that I cannot connect to that IP address. Note, some versions of Telnet have different methods for specifying the destination port.
