Something I have discovered that I thought I'd share. Maybe I am a bit slow, but I have been tearing my hair out waiting for linux to boot from the 2 floppies. I discovered that once the linux partition is installed on the harddisk, if at boot time you hold down the shift key, LILO will prompt you for which partition to start. (To get a list of options press the TAB key). If you enter Prompt, linux will boot to manual mode from the harddisk, allowing you to manually image, etc.
