Current Version: ZENworks for Desktops 3
We asked the folks who deliver the ZENworks for Desktops 3 Advanced Technical Training (ATT) if they could share a few exclusive tips with us from the training they present, and they graciously agreed. Here's a nice one to help you troubleshoot Imaging.
Need to know what information is being written to the beginning of your hard drives by ZISWIN (the ZENworks Imaging Agent)? This will help especially when troubleshooting the "No Work to Do" errors. There are two ways to know what's being written:
- From a bash# prompt in Linux: img i z
- From Windows, enable the following regkey and then reboot:
HKLM\Software\Novell\ZENworks
and create String Value ZISwin Log and set the value equal to 1.
Other Tips from ATT
- Verifying ZEN 3 Files on Server
- Turning off NAL's Auto-Uninstall
- Using Workstations While Inventory Scanner Runs
- Enabling Workstation Manager Tracing
- Accessing Image Safe Data
- Remote Control without Workstation Object Name
