We asked the folks who deliver the ZENworks for Desktops 3 Advanced Technical Training (ATT) if they could share a few exclusive tips with us from the training they present, and they graciously agreed. Here's one to add to your periodic checklist to help you keep your Inventory database in sync with NDS.
There isn't much maintenance needed on the ZENworks Inventory database, however, ensuring that no bogus records are in the database should be a regular course of action:
- First, the database must be compared against NDS to detect any discrepencies. At the console prompt, type "startser ndslookupfordb".
- Then, the differences found must be reconciled. At the console prompt, type "startser dbdelete". This will delete any database records for workstation objects that are present in the Inventory database, but not present in NDS.
