If you've ever wanted to store your Lotus Notes ID files in eDirectory, you're not alone. Here's a request from a reader and a slick solution put together by Novell consultant Holger Dopp.
Problem:
"How can we store the Notes.id files inside eDirectory so when the notes client launches a dll reads the Notes ID from a secure LDAP server or through NDAP. We'd like to use LDAP to kill the client dependence."
Solution:
Novell Germany developed a solution like this using the Secret Store. You can get more info (and the necessary files) from Holger's web site:
Download:
Single Sign-on Wrapper for Lotus Notes 1.1
- SSOWrapper offers roaming user capability to Lotus Notes users.
- Before SSOWrapper starts Lotus Notes client, it downloads NOTES.INI and USER.ID file from NDS users Secret Store.
- Novell Single Sign-on product must be installed before using SSOBrowser
