Want to keep broadcast messages from appearing on all of the workstations? Here's how you do it.
At the DOS prompt, you can type CASTOFF or CASTOFF ALL. The CASTOFF command blocks blocks messages from workstations, CASTOFF ALL blocks messages from the server and workstations. CASTON restores broadcasts from all sources.
Bear in mind that this could backfire on you. When you use these commands, you won't receive system messages. So if the server was going to be shut down, you would not know about it until it happens. But it's useful in many situations.
