After doing an across-the-wire migration, many web based services do not work. Removing and reinstalling them does not help. The problem is a number of text files that hold the IP address the server had before migration took place.

Here's the solution. When building your server as a pre-migration build, build it with the IP address that it will have after the migration and install IPX. Disable IP on the source server and migrate using IPX. When finished and before rebooting the source server, do a search for files with the Temp server name and correct them. Now when you reboot and install any web-based services they will have the correct IP address and name.
