Looking for a way to track how long your users are staying logged in via RADIUS? Here's how you do it:

BMAS can log the RADIUS "Start" and "Stop" events so that you can then do statistics based on length of session. The BMAS logs can be found in the following directories:

  • SYS:ETC\RADIUS\ACCT YYYYMMDD.DAT
  • SYS:ETC\RADIUS\DEBUG RADDBG.LOG
  • SYS:ETC\RADIUS\LOG YYYYMMDD.LOG

Of these, it is the ACCT logs which can be imported into an application such as MS Excel or MS Access, for analysis by field.

For this to work, you'll need to make sure that the server is listening on the same accounting port on which the RAS server is sending the accounting information.
