Did you know that with NetWare 5.x, you get the ability to load nlms into a protected memory space? This is a neat option that will help track abends. It will also come in handy if you need to test apps without possibly affecting other apps that are running.
Here is the syntax for a few of the protection options:
- LOAD [protection options] [path]loadable_module [nlm options]
(loads the named NLM into a protected address space with the chosen options)
- PROTECT <ncf-file-name>
(loads all modules in an NCF file into a protected address space)
- LOAD ADDRESS SPACE = name modulename
(e.g., LOAD ADDRESS SPACE = Hello clib
(clib is loaded in protected memory with address space called "Hello")
There's a lot more you can do with this option. See TID #2942300 for all of the details.
