Using The command line utility TPING

Need to verify the IP connectivity of a device from the NetWare server console? You can use the PING NLM, or alternatively you could use the command line utility TPING.

On the server console command line, type:
TPING
followed by the IP address or hostname you are trying to reach.
(ie TPING www.novell.com or TPING coolsolutions)

If the address is reachable, TPING will return the message of / is Alive. When I type in the example:

    TPING coolsolutions

I get:

    coolsolutions is ALIVE
