Avoiding Double Calendar Entries

We've had a number of people fall into this trap, so we thought we'd give you a heads up. Sometimes people find that appointments they send will appear twice on their calendars. This, as you might guess, makes for a cluttered calendar and contributes unnecessarily to the dread one feels when reviewing the day's appointments.

Here's the deal. If you have set the display properties of your calendar to show SENT items, it will show double entries for each appointment that you scheduled. This is the kind of thing that happens when adventuresome people start exploring GroupWise and clicking boldly at mysterious options like Fox Mulder with a mouse.

If this has happened to you, just turn it off like this:

  1. Open your calendar.
  2. Click View.
  3. Click Display Settings. You should see a check mark next to Sent Items, as shown here.
  1. Deselect Sent Items by clicking it. The checkmark will vanish, and you will be back to seeing only your Received appointments on your calendar.
