Heads Up: Details of the Padlock Fix are now available.

On August 14 2001, Novell announced that a security issue had been discovered in GroupWise 5.5 Enhancement Pack and GroupWise 6. This security issue was discovered and reported to Novell by Kenetic, one of Novell's leading Platinum Partners based in Toronto, Canada.

A fix, called the Padlock Fix, was provided on August 14, 2001 but details of the issue were not released in order to provide Novell clients running GroupWise 5.5 Enhancement Pack and GroupWise 6 sufficient time to deploy the fix. Since that initial announcement, over 95% of Novell's trackable customers have deployed the fix and there have been no reported customer compromises.
