Problem: DLL Registry failed: mfc42.dll during installation of GroupWise 6.
Turn off Notify on GroupWise.
I was getting ready to install all the patches I found searching for this error: http://support.novell.com/servlet/filefinder?name=mfc42.dll then found out that having Notify on creates these DLL errors.
Example: How to turn off the Notify dialog pop-up window:
- Right click on the Notify Icon in the windows sytem tray and click on Options.
- In the GroupWise Notify Options window click the Notify tab.
- Deselect the Show dialog option checkboxes for each priority mail setting that you wish to disable (High priority, Standard priority, and Low priority). The Play sound options may be left turned on if your computer has sound capabilities, otherwise you may wish to turn off the Play sound options.
- Click the Apply button and then click the OK button.
