As many of us are aware, macro viruses that attack MS Office 97 are becoming more and more prevalent. One of the first things that many of these macro viruses try to do is turn off the Office 97 macro virus detection capabilities. What I've done is create an Application Object that turns these settings back on every time a user logs into the network. While this won't stop the macro virus from turning off the macro virus detection capabilities at the time of infection, it will turn the detection back on the next time that workstation logs into the network.
