This applet removes duplicate entries from a personal address book. Duplicates can be defined as address book entries in the same address book which have either the same display name, or the same email address.

When a duplicate is detected, it is removed from the selected addressbook and moved to a dynamically created address book for review. This addressbook will have the same name as the original book with the words ' - Backup'appended.

Once you are satisfied the address book entries removed are no longer required you can manually delete the backup book.

If you manually delete a GroupWise address book before running this applet, due to a GroupWise client refresh issue, the list of available addressbooks shown may not be accurate. If you delete an address book prior to running the applet, to ensure only valid books are shown, we suggest that you re-start GroupWise.

• Only works on "user entries". Duplicate organizations (contacts) not deleted and backup file only saves "display Name" and "email address". for safty export adresses to text file, check to see that all entries have a display name, import to a temp address book and run tool on the temp book to preserve full entries that may be accidentally deleted.
