To reduce its internal GroupWise support calls, Novell decided to try BrainStorm's virtual, web-based help desk, Edge Expert, for their top 20 percent of frequent GroupWise help desk callers. Each user was told how to access Edge Expert and then the help desk personnel sat back to wait for the effects.
Three months later, the GroupWise support team compared the average number of calls made by the top 20 percent before Edge Expert to the average number of calls made by the same users after deploying Edge Expert. In this group alone, Edge Expert had reduced the number of calls 68 percent.
