Have you heard...This week will end the Independent GroupWise Market Survey. More than 1,000 GroupWise sites have responded, representing nearly 1.5 million GroupWise seats. Take a moment to participate. The results of the survey will be made available in a white paper to be released in conjunction with the launch of GroupWise 7.
You can take the survey at http://survey.perseus.com/1441bc2b.htm
Some initial information from the survey includes:
- 68% of GroupWise users are in North America
- 65% of current GroupWise users are planning to upgrade to GroupWise 7 within 6 months of it shipping
- 68% are upgrading for the new Client Enhancements
- 7% of GroupWise sites are also running Microsoft Exchange

Have you heard...Results from Big Brother discussion.
For the past two weeks I have been discussing the ability for organizations to monitor, track, and read employees email and how people feel about that. The overwhelming answer has been that Big Brother is a good thing and keeping track of what employees are saying is good for business.
Although the best quote I had was from the CEO of a small advertising firm with 30 GroupWise users.
He said "I don't want to know what my employees are saying because I might have to fire someone that I really need to keep."
There is a direct correlation between the size of the organization and its desire to maintain an email policy and enforce it through monitoring software.
