When the State of Ohio Auditor's Office needed a solution that would provide anytime, anywhere access to business-critical files, it turned to Novell NetWare 6.
The State of Ohio Auditor's Office is responsible for auditing finances of 5,000 state and local governments and agencies. Nearly 1,000 employees assist in auditing tax dollars throughout the state.
The State of Ohio Auditor's Office wanted to leverage its current directory services by implementing and integrating new technology to enhance business practices and offer more functionality to its workforce. In the midst of a server consolidation project, the Auditor's Office was in search of a robust, reliable server solution with little-to-no volume constraints, in order to boost infrastructure uptime and speed.
With nearly 750 remote laptop users, the Auditor's Office was also greatly in need of Internet-enabled file and print services. The organization wanted to empower its employees by providing an Internet-enabled solution that would offer secure, immediate access to government data and resources at anytime and from any location, while simplifying system administration and management for its six-man support team.
