I had a problem with imaging the newer Gateway 10/100/1000 e1000 cards. I opened a case with Novell and they compiled me a new linux.2 file which solved my problem. Since then tons of people have contacted me requesting this file from me. That was months ago, but people still contact me. I thought I'd just share it with Cool Solutions so everyone that needs it can have it.
Here are two files to help with the newer Gateway desktops with the 10/100/1000 e1000 cards. The linux.2 file allows you to PXE boot and restore an image to a Gateway, the e1000 file allows you to create a boot disk if you want to restore an image without using a PXE LAN boot.
- For the PXE boot: Rename the old linux.2 in the sys:\tftp directory and place this one there.
- For the boot partition: Once you have booted up using the ZEN partition add the driver to the following location:
/LIB/MODULES/2.8.14/KERNEL/DRIVERS/NET
