SOLUTION: Use Microsoft System Information (Msinfo32.exe), it provides a wealth of system information and diagnostics of the computer. Combined with ZENworks you have a centrally managed solution for collecting system information.
EXAMPLE
- Copy C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo folder to a shared folder on the network drives
- Create a ZENworks Application that runs
\msinfo32.exe - Specify parameters such as "/report <<pathname>/%COMPUTERNAME% /categories +systemsummary+SWEnvStartupPrograms" which creates a quick System Summary of the workstation
Refer to this site for more details on msinfo32.exe command line switches.
