Do you need to perform maintenance on GroupWise archives but can't find a way to automate the process? CheckIt can do it for you.
CheckIt is a tool that builds and runs GWCheck jobs for archives. A CheckIt job can consist of up to four GWCheck jobs - Analyze/Fix, Expire/Reduce, Structural Rebuild and Mailbox Statistics. CheckIt can submit the jobs in one of three ways:
- From the GroupWise Client - At client startup the CheckIt job sequentially launches the GWCheck jobs that are configured for the user. Each of the four jobs can be run on its own cycle, i.e. - A Mailbox Statistics can run weekly while a Structural Rebuild is run every 30 days. CheckIt launches the jobs against the user's default archive.
- As an Interactive Job - The Administrator panel is used to configure a job that consists of the 1 to 4 of the different GWCheck types. The job is run against a list of archives and/or directories containing archives. The job options can be saved as a registry file to be imported and run by individual GroupWise Clients or the full job can be saved and later re-imported or used as a Batch Job.
- As a Batch Job - CheckIt can accept a saved job file as a command line parameter and run without user intervention. This allows CheckIt jobs to be scheduled when convenient using any workstation scheduler.
CheckIt uses GWCheck version 6.0 or higher, and can be run against GroupWise 5.5 or higher archives.
CheckIt and GWCheck will run on any Windows 9x, NT, 2000 or XP machine. However, expiring items requires a Windows NT, 2000, or XP Professional workstation.
