downloading the software

There are four .iso images. Each image contains both the Novell Cloud Manager 1.0 software and the Novell PlateSpin Orchestrate 2.5 software. Cloud Manager uses PlateSpin Orchestrate to automate the provisioning and management of workloads in the virtual infrastructure. You need both products to use Cloud Manager.

  1. On the Novell Cloud Manager 1.0 download page, click Download next to the .iso image for the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server platform on which you want to install the Cloud Manager and PlateSpin Orchestrate software:

  2. Follow the on-screen prompts on the download dialog box to download the .iso image.

  3. Burn the .iso image to a DVD or transfer the image to a location where it can be mounted by the server where you plan to install the software.

licensing

You can install Novell Cloud Manager without a product license to evaluate it for 90 days. After 90 days, you must purchase a license or discontinue use of the product.

Novell Cloud Manager includes PlateSpin Orchestrate 2.5. PlateSpin Orchestrate requires a trial key for the evaluation, which controls the number of users and managed nodes you can configure. The trial key also sets an expiration date.

Get Trial Key

To obtain a trial key, click Get Trial Key . This opens the Novell Customer Center evaluation activation page and sends a message to your e-mail account (specified as part of your Novell customer profile). The e-mail contains the activation code and a download link for the license file.
