Cloud Manager supports the standard navigation methods (tapping, flicking, swiping, scrolling, typing, and so forth) provided by your iPhone or iPod touch.

You should also be aware of the following navigation tips:

Do this...

Delete an item

Swipe the item row, either direction, to display the Delete button.

Add an item

Tap the + button located at the top right of the screen.

Go back one screen

Tap the back button located at the top left of the screen.

Go back to a main screen

Tap a main screen icon (Home, Messages, Tasks, Services, or The Cloud).

Refresh a screen

Tap the refresh button at the top right of the screen.

You can view the current capacity status for the RAM and CPUs. Status is displayed for each host group, zone, and all zones

  1. Tap Home.

  2. On the capacity status line, tap the arrow.

  3. Tap RAM or CPU to toggle the view.

You can view the number of tasks needing to be completed.

  1. Tap Home.

    The task line lists the total number of administrator tasks, both claimed (by you) and unclaimed.

  2. To view more details, tap the arrow, then tap My Tasks or Unclaimed Tasks.

Reports you generate are sent to you via e-mail.

  1. Tap Home.

  2. Tap Reports.

The workload update schedule determines when existing workloads (with no expiration date) are updated to reflect changes to their service levels, resource allocations, and costs.

  1. Tap Home.

  2. Tap Updates.

  3. Tap Edit to set the schedule.

    or

    Tap Update Now.

  1. Tap Home.

  2. Tap Logout.

You can view both sent and received messages. You cannot send or reply to messages.

  1. Tap Messages.

  2. Tap a message list.

  3. Tap a message to display it.

The message list refreshes whenever you open the Messages screen. If you want to refresh the list while the screen is open, you must tap the Refresh button.

  1. Tap Tasks.

  2. Tap Unclaimed Tasks.

  3. Tap the task you want to claim.

  4. Tap Claim.

    The task is moved to your My Tasks list.

An approval task requires you to approve or deny a business service request. As you review the task, you can modify workload information if necessary.

  1. Tap Tasks.

  2. Tap Unclaimed Tasks (or My Tasks if you previously claimed the task).

  3. Tap the task.

  4. To review or modify workloads, tap the arrow on the Workloads line.

  5. Tap Approve.

    or

    Tap Deny, select a reason, then tap OK.

A configuration task pauses the provisioning workflow to give you an opportunity to configure workloads before or after the build process. After you complete any required configuration, you must mark the task complete to continue the workflow.

  1. Tap Tasks.

  2. Tap Unclaimed Tasks (or My Tasks if you previously claimed the task).

  3. Tap the task.

  4. Tap Complete.

The task list refreshes whenever you open the Tasks screen. If you want to refresh the list while the screen is open, you must tap the Refresh button.

  1. Make sure you are a member of the business group for which you want to create the business service.

  2. Tap Services > New Request.

  3. Follow the prompts to create the business service and add workloads.

  4. Tap Submit.

    or

    Tap Back to submit the request later.

You can edit business service requests that are still in the Defining state.

  1. Tap Services > Defining.

  2. Tap the business service you want to edit.

  3. Tap Edit.

  1. Tap Services > Defining.

  2. In the list, swipe the request you want to delete, either left-to-right or right-to-left.

  3. Tap Delete.

If you have saved a business service request in the Defining list, you can submit it at any time:

  1. Tap Services > Defining.

  2. Tap the business service request you want to submit.

  3. Tap Submit.

    The request is moved from the Defining list to the Submitted list.

You can withdraw a request until it reaches a certain phase in the Building process. After that, the only way to cancel the business service is to delete the deployed business service.

  1. Tap Services > Submitted.

  2. Tap the business service request you want to withdraw.

  3. Tap Withdraw.

You can delete a request until it reaches a certain phase in the Building process. After that, you must wait until to delete the business service after it is deployed.

  1. Tap Services > Submitted.

  2. In the list, swipe the request you want to delete, either left-to-right or right-to-left.

  3. Tap Delete.

You can change non-imported business service. Imported business services cannot be changed.

  1. Tap Services > Deployed.

  2. Tap the business service you want to change.

  3. Tap Change.

  4. Go to the Defining list > tap the change request.

  5. Make your changes.

  6. Tap Submit.

You can delegate full control of a business service to other users, or you can delegate view-only rights.

  1. Tap Services > Deployed.

  2. Tap the business service you want to delegate.

  3. Tap the arrow on the Delegates line.

  1. Tap Services > Deployed.

  2. In the list, swipe the business service you want to delete, either left-to-right or right-to-left.

  3. Tap Delete.

  1. Tap Services > Deployed.

  2. Tap the business service whose workload you want to start or stop.

  3. Tap the arrow on the Workloads line.

  4. Tap the workload.

  5. Tap the start, stop, or pause buttons.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Business Group.

  2. Tap the + button.

You can edit a business group to add or remove users, change the sponsor, change the cost visibility, and change the group's access to service levels, workload templates, and networks.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Business Group.

  2. Tap the business group to edit.

  3. Tap the Edit button.

  4. When finished editing, tap the View button.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Business Group.

  2. In the list, swipe the business group to delete, either left-to-right or right-to-left.

  3. Tap the Delete button.

Any user you add must have an account in your LDAP authentication directory before he or she will be able to log in to Cloud Manager.

  1. Tap The Cloud > User.

  2. Tap the + button.

You can edit a user to change the user's cost visibility setting.

  1. Tap The Cloud > User.

  2. Tap the user to edit.

  3. Tap the Edit button.

  4. When finished editing, tap the View button.

You can add Cloud Manager users to your Contacts app.

  1. Tap The Cloud > User.

  2. Tap the user you want to add.

  3. Tap the Add to Contacts button.

Deleting a user removes the user from the Cloud Manager database. To prevent the user from logging in again, you must remove the user from your LDAP authentication directory.

  1. Tap The Cloud > User.

  2. In the list, swipe the user to delete, either left-to-right or right-to-left.

  3. Tap the Delete button.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Service Levels.

  2. Tap the + button.

You can edit a service to add or remove objectives, change the host group assignment, and change the description.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Service Levels.

  2. Tap the service level to edit.

  3. Tap the Edit button.

  4. When finished editing, tap the View button.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Service Levels.

  2. In the list, swipe the service level to delete, either left-to-right or right-to-left.

  3. Tap the Delete button.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Service Level Objectives.

  2. Tap the + button.

You can edit a service level objective to change the objective type and value, and to change the description and monthly cost.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Service Level Objective.

  2. Tap the service level objective to edit.

  3. Tap the Edit button.

  4. When finished editing, tap the View button.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Service Levels Objectives .

  2. In the list, swipe the service level objective to delete, either left-to-right or right-to-left.

  3. Tap the Delete button.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Workload Template.

  2. Tap the + button.

You can edit a workload template to change the VM template assignment and resource allocations, and to add and remove disks.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Workload Templates.

  2. Tap the workload template to edit.

  3. Tap the Edit button.

  4. When finished editing, tap the View button.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Workload Templates.

  2. In the list, swipe the workload template to delete, either left-to-right or right-to-left.

  3. Tap the Delete button.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Host Group.

  2. Tap the + button.

You can edit a host group to change general information, resource costs, and host membership.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Host Group.

  2. Tap the host group to edit.

  3. Tap the Edit button.

  4. When finished editing, tap the View button.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Host Groups.

  2. In the list, swipe the host group to delete, either left-to-right or right-to-left.

  3. Tap the Delete button.

  1. Tap The Cloud > Hosts.

  2. Tap the host to view.

Tap the globe icon, then select the zone for which you want to view data or select All Zones to display all data. This affects only the data displayed in The Cloud screen. Other screens, such as Home and Services, continue to display data for all zones.

For example, if you select the Dallas zone, you only see service levels, workload templates, host groups, and hosts associated with the Dallas zone.
