The Novell Data Synchronizer Connector for SugarCRM connects your SugarCRM system with your Synchronizer system. Data from your SugarCRM system can then be synchronized to other applications for which Synchronizer connectors are available, such as GroupWise, Salesforce.com, and SharePoint.
The system requirements for the SugarCRM Connector are the same as for your Synchronizer system, as listed in the Novell Data Synchronizer Installation Guide.
You must install Novell Data Synchronizer before you install the SugarCRM Connector.
Change to the directory where you downloaded the SugarCRM Connector on the Synchronizer server.
Install the SugarCRM Connector RPM:
If you are updating the evaluation version to the purchased version, use the following command:
rpm --force -Uvh datasync-syncengine-connector-sugarcrm-
version.x86_64.rpm
Otherwise, use the following command to install the purchased version:
rpm -i datasync-syncengine-connector-sugarcrm-version.x86_64.rpm
This installs the SugarCRM Connector to the following directory:
/opt/novell/datasync/syncengine/connectors/sugarcrm5
To add the SugarCRM Connector to your existing Synchronizer system, follow the instructions in the SugarCRM Connector Installation and Configuration Guide.
To manage the SugarCRM Connector, follow the instructions in “Managing Connectors” in the Novell Data Synchronizer Administration Guide.
For general connector issues, see “General Connector Issues” in the Novell Data Synchronizer Readme.
When you first start synchronizing data from SugarCRM, new SugarCRM items are synchronized to other applications, but existing SugarCRM items are not. To cause an existing SugarCRM item to synchronize, modify the item slightly. This causes the updated item to synchronize to other applications.
After SugarCRM 5.2.x, SugarCRM no longer supports synchronizing e-mail. Therefore, the SugarCRM Connector does not support synchronizing e-mail.
It is recommended that deselect your Frequent Contacts address book from the connector settings before you begin synchronizing your contacts between GroupWise and SugarCRM. If you have this address book selected, you will create new SugarCRM contacts every time you send an e-mail to a new contact. This will enable everyone to view contacts that should not be entered into the SugarCRM database. Please refer to the Novell Data Synchronizer Documentation Web site
The admin login can encounter issues if there is a number in the password. Reset the password and omit numbers to resolve this issue.
Ensure your SugarCRM application has access to the Internet over port 80.
SugarCRM will not synchronize objects with ‘<‘ or ‘>’ in the subject line.
Modifying the Assigned To field on a meeting in SugarCRM will cause and issue where both the original assignee and the new one will have the event. To avoid this issue, remove the initial meeting and recreate it with the new intended assignee. This will remove the initial meeting and assignee and the new assignee will receive any further notifications regarding the meeting.
