This release focuses on some productivity enhancements, version handling, and quality. It also supports the new features available in the Identity Manager 3.5, which is due to ship early next year. Features include Job Scheduling, ECMAScript Integration, Mapping Tables, Resource Libraries, many new actions, conditions, tokens, and verbs for Policy Buider, and more policy linkage capabilities. “Designer for Novell's Identity Manager has benefited the adoption of identity based solutions in several ways. It has streamlined the adoption of identity based solutions by simplifying solution customization. It has reduced our cost of designing and deploying Identity Manager by about 30%. It has made it easier for customers to manage and maintain a solution after it has been implemented. And it has made Novell Identity Manager the industry choice of both Novell and non-Novell customers for identity management initiatives. We applaud Novell for evolving Identity Manager in such a way that it has created a win/win situation for both customers and consulting organizations.”    (November 9, 2006)

“From a consulting aspect, Designer has literally changed the way we work. Our consultants can now take their work on the road and develop drivers while disconnected (such as on an airplane). The ability to work anywhere has increased our efficiency ten-fold! For our customers, Designer has helped ease the burden of learning to develop business rules with Identity Manager. The interface is intuitive and the on-line help is a tremendous source of reference. Other benefits such as inline testing, documentation generation, workflow design, and more, make Designer the obvious development platform for Identity Manager and helps solidify Novell's Identity Manager as a market leader for identity management solutions.”    (October 23, 2006)

“Designer for Identity Manager has greatly accelerated our deployments within our Identity Management Ecosystem. Without much prior knowledge or the help of more expensive consultants Designer for Identity Manager made it possible for our internal organization to design and deploy complex connections to other systems. Designer's method of click-and-run connectors is far more efficient and effective then comparable solutions or even earlier versions of IDM/DirXML.”    (August 30, 2006)
