The Virtual Interface Architecture (VIA) is a proposed interconnect protocol standard developed by Intel*, Compaq*, and other technology companies to provide high performance/low overhead point-to-point message passing in clustered systems.
The programmatic interface to VIA is called the Virtual Interface Provider Library (VIPL). NCS utilizes extended APIs from the VIPL to communicate cluster events to nodes in the cluster.
