B.0 Novell Business Continuity Cluster

The Novell® Business Continuity Clustering (BCC) software integrates with Novell Cluster Services™ (NCS) to automatically backup network resources and services on a secondary cluster.

This appendix describes the XML request and response tags used to manage common BCC services. The Novell Storage Services™ (NSS) Virtual File System™ (VFS), also known as the _ADMIN volume, is the entry point used to manage BCC. Management utilities read and write commonly used files on the _ADMIN volume to manage BCC. These read and write files contain the XML tags defined in this document.

For more information about NSS, see NDK: Virtual File Services. You also might refer to Managing Novell Cluster Services Through XML.

IMPORTANT:BCC components are not available through the Novell Developer Kit but are bundled in a separate install available for purchase at the Novell Business Continuity Clustering home page. Before implementing BCC, you must first install NCS, then follow the procedures in the BCC installation document.

This document is designed for developers and advanced system administrators who are required to integrate BCC with their systems or products. This document contains the following sections:
