Although implementing the Perl-based CLI has no specific Novell or third-party module dependencies or hardware requirements, it does require the following:
Perl Software: The CLI is dependent upon a Perl interpreter, version 5.8.0 or later. The Perl interpreter can run on any platform, including NetWare®, Linux*, or Windows*.
NetWare Requirements: Perl.nlm that shipped with NetWare 6.5 SP1 or later.
Workstation Requirements (Optional): To run the CLI on a Linux or Windows workstation, you must be able to map a drive to the _ADMIN volume of the server you wish to manage. Furthermore, the user account used to map this drive must have supervisor rights to the volume. In the case of a cluster, the drive can be mapped to the _ADMIN volume of the virtual NCP server that is represented by the cluster. In fact, this is the preferred method if running from a workstation in a clustered environment.
