This section describes the functions for accessing files and directories and include ANSI, POSIX, and NKS functions with a few Novell® additions. These functions allow you to create and delete directory entries, to modify attributes, to read and write, and to set file locks.
The functions have been divided into following groups:
ANSI File and Directory Functions—describes the functions in the stdio.h file.
POSIX File and Directory Functions—describes the functions in the unistd.h, fcntl.h, dirent.h, sys/stat.h, fsio.h, and libgen.h files.
NKS File and Directory Functions—describes the functions in the nks/fsio.h and nks/dirio.h files.
In addition, this section includes information on the following topics:
File and Directory I/O Concepts—explains how to get started using the functions. It also provides an overview of the meta data that is stored in the NetWare® file system and how you can access and modify it.
Structures—describes all the structures used by the file and directory functions.
Values—describes the flags and constants used by the functions and structures.
