6.4 Providing Explanations for Test Failures

When you gather test results, TestConsole checks to see if any exceptions or failures occurred during testing. If there are issues that need to be resolved, a Report Error dialog will appear instructing you to click the Verify button to launch the Exception Information window.

Highlight the exception and click the Show Me button, or double-click on the exception to go to the location of the error.

Provide an explanation for each exception or failure that you cannot resolve by highlighting the exception and clicking the Edit Explanation button. This will launch the Explain Exception window where you can enter an explanation for the failure. When you have entered an appropriate explanation, click OK.

HINT:If one explanation can be used for multiple exceptions, select the exceptions (hold down the <Shift> or <Control> keys while selecting), enter your explanation, then click the Add button.

When 100% of your exceptions or failures have been explained, click OK to continue generating your test report.
