The following table outlines the changes made to the Storage Management Services documentation from July 2000 onwards.

December 2008	Some of the SMDR return values of Target Service Return Values (Obsolete) function are no longer supported. They are marked as obsolete in the documentation. Added error code NWSMTS_OUT_OF_QUOTA_SPACE to the TS API and SMDR return values in Section 9.3, Target Service Return Values.
February 2008	Updated the definition of Section 6.2, Data Set Name Functions with the maximum limit of 255 names and paths. Added error code NWSMUT_BUFFER_OVERFLOW to the NWSMPut functions in Section 6.2, Data Set Name Functions.
August 2007	Corrected the following values in the Remarks section of the NWSM_SCAN_CONTROL function: 0xFFFFFFFB with 0xFFFFFFFAL 0xFFFFFFFA with 0xFFFFFFF9L 0xFFFFFFF9 with 0xFFFFFFF8L
June 2007	Updated the Remarks sections of the following APIs: Added new flag NWSM_AUTH_CASA_Token to NWSMTSConnectToTargetServiceEx Added new scan types NWSM_OR_DATE_TIME_FILTER, NWSM_EXCLUDE_SECONDARY_DATA_STREAMS, and NWSM_INCLUDE_SOFTLINK_CHILD to NWSM_SCAN_CONTROL Replaced the following datatypes in Section 6.2, Data Set Name Functions and Section 6.3, Extension Functions: UINT32 with SMS_HANDLE HUGE with SM_HUGE Updated the description of the 0xFFFDFFF2 value. Deleted error strings prefixed with SMERR in the Section 9.3.1, TSAPI and SMDR Return Values section.

March 2006	Deleted NWSMTSGetTargetServiceAddress function from Section 2.9, Function Access Scope. Deleted return value 0xFFFDFFB0 in NWSMTSScanDataSetContinue function. Added new definition for 0xFFFDFFB0 value. Replaced otherInfo to other_info in the NWSM_NAME_LIST. Changed NWSMFreeString to NWSMFreeNameList in the Remarks section of NWSMListSMDRs. Deleted error code NWSMSD in the Remarks section of NWSMConvertError. Replaced references of scanPattern to pattern wherever applicable.
June 2005	NWSMTSGetTargetServiceAddress (Obsolete) function is not supported since NetWare 6.0. It is marked as obsolete in the documentation.
October 2004	Added information about the new Extension Functions, that are NWSMCloseExtension, NWSMGetExtension, NWSMGetFirstExtension, and NWSMGetNextExtension. Added information on the extensions and their fields in Section 5.7, Extensions. Added information about the newly added Utility Library structures; these are NWSM_EXTENSION_INFORMATION, NWSM_RESOURCE_INFO_EXTN_NETWARE_DATA_1, NWSM_RESOURCE_INFO_EXTN_UNIX_DATA_1, NWSM_RESOURCE_INFO_EXTN_UNSUPPORTED_DATA_1, and NWSM_SCAN_INFO_EXTN_NFS_DATA_1. Added new Utility Library values. See ExtensionTag Values and TagVersion Values. Updates in the Remarks sections of Option Function NWSMTSGetUnsupportedOptions and Miscellaneous Function NWSMTSSetArchiveStatus. Added information about the new API NWSMTSGetTargetResourceInfoEx .
