These installation steps are specific to installing the Novell Client on Windows XP.
Download the latest Novell Client for Windows 2000/XP/2003 from Novell Downloads. The download is a self-extracting executable file.
Extract the client files to a directory on SUT.
Install the Novell client.
Browse to the directory where you extracted the client files.
Double click on .
Select Custom Installation and click .
Click to install the Novell Client for Windows.
Click to accept the installation of NMAS.
Select and click .
Select as the login authenticator and click .
Click to initiate the file copy.
Click to restart Windows. Remove the Novell Client CD.
Set the file caching parameter.
Right-click the red Novell on the taskbar.
Click .
Click the tab.
Select .
Change the setting to .
Click to save the change and close the Novell Client for Windows Properties window.
Click to on the reboot now message.
Add IPXCosting to the registry.
Click the button.
Select .
Type REGEDIT <Enter>.
Click the plus icon next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Click the plus icon next to SYSTEM.
Click the plus icon next to ControlSet001.
Click the plus icon next to Services.
Click the plus icon next to Netware Workstation.
Click .
Right-click the in the right window pane and select .
Type IPXCosting <Enter>.
Right-click and select .
Type 0 <Enter> in the Value data: field.
Close REGEDIT.
Restart the system to allow the new setting to take effect.
