Password Management for Novell eDirectory

1. Click the Download button, log in, and review the download agreement.
   If you haven't registered yet, you can register for free.
   
   
2. Download the file for your platform to your Novell^® iManager server.

3. Follow the installation instructions for your platform:
   
   

   Platform	Installation Instructions
   Linux and Solaris	Copy pwd_mgmt_2.0.2_nw_lin_sol.jar to the /tmp directory, and type java -Djava.library.path=/tmp -cp /tmp/pwd_mgmt_2.0.2_nw_lin_sol.jar install
   NetWare	Copy pwd_mgmt_2.0.2_nw_lin_sol.jar to the sys: volume, and type java -cp sys:/pwd_mgmt_2.0.2_nw_lin_sol.jar install
   Windows	Double-click pwd_mgmt_2.0.2_win.exe.

   
   Completing the installation does the following:
   • Schema is extended
   • NMAS Challenge Response Method is installed
   • iManager plug-ins for password management are installed
   • Users have rights to create their own password hint
     
     

   If iManager and eDirectory are not on the same server, keep in mind that you might need to run the installation twice. Extending the schema and installing the Challenge Response method require installation on the eDirectory server. Installing iManager plug-ins and giving rights to password hint require installation on the iManager server.
   
   

4. To set up password management, follow the instructions in the deployment guide.
