Minimum Requirements

The following are the minimum system requirements for running Novell eGuide software:

Version 1.3 or later (1.3.1 recommended)

LDAP Directory
  • Supports LDAP v3

  • Uses clear text passwords for clear text connections; clear text passwords are disabled by default in eDirectory 8.7

    The clear text requirement is necessary for installation only. You can configure the directory to use SSL after eGuide installation.

IMPORTANT:  If you plan to use eGuide with eDirectory (formerly called NDS®), version 8 or later is the minimum requirement; version 8.5 or later is required to support password security; version 8.6.2 or later is required to support Role Based Services (version 8.7 recommended).

Browser for eGuide Administration Utility
  • Netscape* 6.2 or later
  • Internet Explorer 5.5 or later

Browser for eGuide Client
  • Netscape 4.78 or later (6.2 recommended)
  • Internet Explorer 5.0 or later (5.5 recommended)
