NOTE:  An asterisk (*) indicates the default handler for the attribute.

Expanding Textbox

Uses the Expanding Textbox control when possible. This control is available only on Internet Explorer 5.5 and later. When this browser is not available, eGuide uses the standard controls.

Directory String*

True/False Selector

Displays a True/False selector. If attribute is not currently True or False, this handler creates an additional option that is the current value.

Displays Distinguished Names (DNs) abstractly using the Display-Attributes, defined in the UIHandlers.xml file. By default these attributes are GIVENNAME, INITIALS, and LASTNAME. When in edit mode, eGuide allows users to be specified using List Attributes, defined in the eGuide Administration Utility - Display Settings.

Single-Value Distinguished Name Selector

Displays and edits single-value Distinguished Names (DN) abstractly using the Display-Attributes defined in the UIHandlers.xml file. By default these attributes are GIVENNAME, INITIALS, and LASTNAME. Multi-Value US Phone Number

Ensures that telephone numbers are entered in a specific format. By default this format is (012) 345-6789, but it can be changed in the UIHandlers.xml file.

Single-Value US Phone Number

Ensures that a single-value telephone number is entered in a specific format. By default this format is (012) 345-6789, but can be changed in the UIHandlers.xml file.

Ensures that a single-value telephone number is entered in a specific format. By default this format is +0123456789 (optionally followed by additional digits), but it can be changed in the UIHandlers.xml file.

Ensures that a single-value telephone number is entered in a specific format. By default this format is (01) 2345 6789, but it can be changed in the UIHandlers.xml file.

Binary File

Creates a link to launch a specified file from object details. This handler also allows specifying file store location (such as LDAP or FILE), maximum file size, and file store path when applicable. These changes can be made in UIHandlers.xml.

Octet String*

Generic Control

Available for all attributes regardless of syntax or attribute key name. It treats the attribute as a string and shows multivalue controls as appropriate.
